New Hyundai Santro 2018
The new Hyundai Santro 2018 might come with two petrol engines - a 0.8-litre and a 1.1-litre iRDE.
Hyundai broke millions of Indian hearts when it discontinued its popular hatchback – Santro – from the market. Launched in 1998, the Hyundai Santro has been a runaway success for the South Korean carmaker in India. With an aim to free up capacity for manufacturing other cars, the company had stopped the hatchback’s production in December 2014. However, the buzz is that the beloved Santro will make a comeback in India with an evolutionary design and a new set of engines. The new Hyundai Santro 2018 will be introduced as a replacement to the Hyundai i10 (not the Grand i10) in India.

New Hyundai Santro 2018 Launch Date
Hyundai India MD & CEO had confirmed that the new-generation Hyundai Santro will be rolled out in the second half of next year. Though the exact launch date is yet to be revealed, it is likely to debut at the 2018 Delhi Auto Expo. The biennial event will begin in the second week of February, 2018. The launch is likely to happen in the second half of 2018. There is a possibility of the hatchback make its comeback in October (2018), as the vehicle was first launched in India in the same month in 1998. Read – New Hyundai Creta – All You Need To Know
The reason behind bringing back the Santro is said to be the consistent interest and queries of customers for the Santro. Hyundai is hoping that the next Santro will help it counter the popular Renault Kwid, which has managed to outsell most of its rivals. Based on the findings of its marketing and sales department, the new model will be designed in India by Hyundai’s R&D centre in Hyderabad. Reports suggest that the new Hyundai Santro’s development and launch will cost Rs 1,000 crore. Furthermore, India will be the global manufacturing hub for the new Hyundai Santro 2018. New Hyundai Santro 2018 Price in India
Variant Expected Price
Base Model Rs 4 lakh
Top Model Rs 6 lakh
In order to appeal young buyers, the 2018 Hyundai Santro could be offered with a pack of new features along with revived styling. Though, it will continue to carry the old ‘Tall Boy’ design. The hatchback’s new-gen model will be based on an all-new platform, which is already used in the existing Kia cars. This new platform will be produced locally in the country that will further help the carmaker price the vehicle aggressively. In India, the new Santro will bridge a gap between Eon and Grand i10. To withstand the new-age rivals (such as Renault Kwid and Tata Tiago), Hyundai will price its new hatchback quite competitively. We believe that 2018 Hyundai Santro price in India will start from Rs 4 lakh for the base variant, and go up to Rs 6 lakh for the top-end model. It was a random swirl that brought me into Automobiles. This is what i say when people ask me. In person, i'd rather talk to you about anything other than cars, preferably food, places, history, culture or animals. I hate people, and love to stay in my own space. I have a pet, Eva, and i can bring up her at least twice in any conversation. Rest, i have little to no filter.
