New Ford Focus For 2018
I have travelled back to the future in a DeLorean to see the 2018 Ford Focus.
I have travelled back to the future in a DeLorean to see the 2018 Ford Focus. And what a remarkable sight. This small family car, for starters, is lighter than a small feather. This is because it is predominantly constructed from aluminium alloy, rather than steel. That makes it 200KG lighter than today's model, so it tips the scales at approximately 1,100KG. But why bother? Ford's target, you see - as defined by the European Union - is for their fleet's average emissions to fall to 95g/km by 2020. Light cars can have smaller engines than heavy ones, and these burn less fuel and produce less carbon. That explains the diet.
Now, I would love to tell you more about the 2018 Ford Focus – but I cannot because I came home early as the DeLorean was becoming troublesome. However, the Mk4 is likely to be extremely capable in every area. Even today's Mk3 steers itself into parallel parking bays, brakes automatically to avoid low speed collisions, and monitors motorists for signs of fatigue. It can then advise them to rest. Furthermore, the Focus has tremendous handling, a comfortable ride, and family focussed practicality. I can hardly wait for the Mk4.
